Silver Pencil Laced Satin Silkie

January 2026 – Orders of up to 12 eggs are now available. Hens are laying regularly and fertility has been verified.

Silver Pencil Laced Satin Silkie

Silkies are a uniquely ornamental breed known for their soft, fur-like feathering, dark skin, and calm, personable nature. Our Silver Pencil Laced Satin Silkie hatching eggs come exclusively from our Satin project pen.

This pen is a Silver Pencil Laced Satin project. These birds are visually stunning but still under development. One of the roosters in this pen is naked neck. From this pen, silkie feathering, satin feathering, frizzle, and naked necks are all possible.

Please note: all satin Silkies are crosses between Cochins and Silkies. Because of this, some chicks may hatch with skin that is not fully black or with four toes instead of five. These outcomes are inherent to satin breeding.

You are purchasing hatching eggs. We do not currently offer live chicks or adult birds; we only offer hatching eggs. Please understand that we collect our eggs freshly. Our farm will take up to 5–6 total orders for a breed at any given time.

We are an NPIP & AI certified farm located in North Florida. We test fertility monthly and maintain appropriate rooster-to-hen ratios to ensure strong fertility. Eggs are shipped regularly so they move quickly and arrive as fresh as possible.

We package eggs with extreme care. Each egg is individually bubble wrapped, placed into a carton, the carton is bubble wrapped again, then packed into a smaller inner box buffered with shredded paper. That inner box is placed inside a larger outer box with additional packing material. This double-boxed system gives your eggs the best possible chance of arriving safely.

Important Hatching Egg Disclaimer:

We do not guarantee a hatch rate. This is standard in the hatching egg community due to the many variables outside our control, including postal handling, incubation methods, and temperature fluctuations. However, your eggs will leave our farm fresh, fertile, and packaged with extreme care.

Please make sure to be prepared prior to incubating your eggs using good hatching practices. You can find our hatching guide here.

I cannot replace eggs due to a bad hatch. Once they have left my hands, it is impossible for me to control all variables. If you need assistance with your hatch, please feel free to contact me.

No refunds. No exceptions. By purchasing, you acknowledge and accept the risks associated with shipped hatching eggs.

Hatching eggs

Hatching eggs are collected freshly 2-4x a day. We only offer hatching eggs if we are able to collect your eggs within 5 total days. Typically, we can collect your order in as little as 1-2 days. However, we may have multiple orders when you place your order, so please check the processing times on each breeds description. We typically pull the inventory on a specific breed if the wait will be longer than a month. If you need a better estimate please contact us directly.

Shipping

Hatching eggs are shipped individually wrapped in bubble wrap. Each egg is placed into an egg carton, which is also bubble wrapped. This box is filled with shredded paper for buffer. The box is then placed into a second, larger box and buffered. This allows the best hatch rate.

Plants are shipped Monday-Wednesday only. They are packaged in rolled cardboard and poly fill to avoid breakage.

Care information

Hatching eggs should be treated as described in our hatching guide.

Plants should be kept in their pots and allowed 1-2 weeks to acclimate to your home prior to repotting.
