Shipping policy
Shipping Policy
At Akers Family Farm, we collect eggs specifically to fulfill customer orders. This allows us to ship freshly collected hatching eggs while maintaining the highest standards for our breeding program.
Order Processing
Please allow up to 2–3 weeks for your order to be collected during our busiest season. The exact wait time depends on the breed ordered, flock production, and the number of orders received ahead of yours.
We appreciate your patience while we collect eggs to fulfill your order.
Packaging
Every order is packaged with great care to give your eggs the best possible chance of arriving safely.
Each hatching egg is individually wrapped in bubble wrap before being placed into an egg carton. The egg carton is then wrapped in additional bubble wrap and packed inside an inner shipping box. The inner box is then placed inside a second outer shipping box with cushioning material to help absorb impacts during transit.
While no packaging method can completely eliminate the risks associated with shipping hatching eggs, we have developed this packaging system to provide excellent protection throughout the shipping process.
Shipping Method
All hatching eggs are shipped via USPS Priority Mail (2–3 day service).
Please note that USPS delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Weather, holidays, and other unforeseen circumstances may occasionally delay delivery.
Shipping Schedule
Orders are typically shipped Monday through Saturday.
Whenever possible, we schedule shipments to help minimize the amount of time eggs spend in transit.
Hold for Pickup
Whenever a valid phone number is provided with your order, Akers Family Farm will request that your package be held for pickup at your local Post Office.
Holding packages at the Post Office helps reduce unnecessary handling and limits exposure to extreme temperatures while riding on a delivery vehicle. USPS will use the phone number provided to notify you when your package is available for pickup.
If a valid phone number is not provided, we may be unable to request Hold for Pickup, and your package may be delivered through your normal mail route.
Tracking Information
A tracking number is automatically emailed to you when your shipping label is created during the packaging process.
Please allow up to 24 hours after receiving your tracking email for your package to be accepted by USPS and scanned into their tracking system.
Shipping Delays
Once your package has been accepted by USPS, it is in the care of the postal service. While we carefully package every shipment and deliver it promptly to the Post Office, Akers Family Farm cannot be responsible for delays caused by USPS, weather, mechanical issues, routing changes, or other circumstances beyond our control.
