Fall 2024 (October-December) availability update: Please expect the unexpected during the Fall in Florida.  Our birds will be laying FULL TIME one week and we will get zero eggs the next week.  Our priority is getting you FERTILIZED and FRESH eggs.  Please understand wait times cannot be estimated during this time of the year, but we will do our best.  You can contact us directly after you place your order. Please understand that wait time estimates given prior to placing your order CANNOT be guaranteed, since any number of customers can order in between the estimate and your order being placed.  Thank you for your understanding!

You are purchasing Silkie hatching eggs. We only sell our silkie eggs as hens choice, so you may receive eggs from any of the following FOUR breeding pens. ALL of our silkies are bearded and crested, have 5 toes, no split wing or major faults. Our silkie bloodlines are breeder quality and without major defects. Please remember that recessive traits can ALWAYS pop up and that breeders only keep a few of the very best birds every year.

Pen 1 is a black/paint pen. My rooster is black split to paint. I have 6 black hens and 2 paint hens. Frizzles ARE possible from this pen. Satins ARE possible from this pen.

Pen 2 is an all-white pen. This pen is the only pen that does not have any satins. However this pen includes frizzles. This pen is extremely high quality but please remember even high quality white silkies can hatch with pink/yellow skin, they will grow out with dark skin.

Pen 3 is our gold project/variety pen. This pen has a Partridge roo and a modified frizzle Rooster over a variety of gorgeous hens including several satins.  This pen includes, red Pyle, partridge, lavender, calico color-ways and several other color ways.  These birds may hatch with faults. Paints are possible from this pen.

Pen 4 is our newest pen! This is our Silver Pencil Laced Satin pen. These birds are absolutely beautiful but still a project. One of our roosters in this pen is a naked neck! Frizzle, silkie, satin, and necked necks are all possible from this pen.

Your eggs will come from all four pens. I CANNOT provide eggs from a single pen at this time.

Breeder quality. HOWEVER please be aware that all satins are mixes of Cochins and silkies. Some satins MAY hatch with skin that is not completely black or with 4 toes. Please be aware of this in advance, when hatching satins.

Please understand that we collect our eggs FRESHLY. Our farm will take up to 5-6 total orders for a breed at any give time.  However we currently have NO wait for our silkies (Oct 2023).

NPIP & AI certified farm located in north Florida. We test for fertility monthly and keep 1 rooster per 6 hens to ensure fertility. We CANNOT guarantee your hatch rate. Shipping hatching eggs is a gamble. We will guarantee that your eggs arrive well packaged and 100% fertilized.

We are currently able to fulfill orders within approximately 2 days for our Silkies. We will send out an email when your order ships. Please be patient as we work through our list of orders… in the order in which they are placed.

Please do not wash your eggs prior to incubating them. We recommend incubating your eggs at 100F at a humidity of 40-45%. After 7 days candle your eggs and discard any that do not show growth. At day 18 candle your eggs again. At this time place all the developing eggs into lockdown at a humidity of 50-60%. They should hatch within a couple days, by day 21 of incubating.

Please make sure to be prepared prior to incubating your eggs on good hatching practices! I cannot replace your eggs due to a bad hatch. Once they have left my hands it’s impossible for me to control all the variables. If you need assistance with your hatch please contact me.

Hatching eggs

Hatching eggs are collected freshly 2-4x a day. We only offer hatching eggs if we are able to collect your eggs within 5 total days. Typically, we can collect your order in as little as 1-2 days. However, we may have multiple orders when you place your order, so please check the processing times on each breeds description. We typically pull the inventory on a specific breed if the wait will be longer than a month. If you need a better estimate please contact us directly.

Shipping

Hatching eggs are shipped individually wrapped in bubble wrap. Each egg is placed into an egg carton, which is also bubble wrapped. This box is filled with shredded paper for buffer. The box is then placed into a second, larger box and buffered. This allows the best hatch rate.

Plants are shipped Monday-Wednesday only. They are packaged in rolled cardboard and poly fill to avoid breakage.

Care information

Hatching eggs should be treated as described in our hatching guide.

Plants should be kept in their pots and allowed 1-2 weeks to acclimate to your home prior to repotting.
